Description:

The Wave music system reproduces one-half octave lower musical notes and delivers even greater clarity and definition than the original Wave radio/CD. With its deeper tones and even more lifelike sound, you might just feel like you're sitting in the front row. Inside, our new proprietary waveguide speaker technology combines with other Bose technologies to deliver enhanced performance at all listening levels. You'll hear the same clear musical nuances whether you turn the volume up or keep it soft. You'll also enjoy the full depth and range of every vocal or instrument on MP3s, CD-R/RWs, and conventional CDs. Listen to CDs created on your computer and take advantage of the digital MP3 format for hours of uninterrupted Wave music system quality sound. The Wave music system was engineered to be delightfully easy to use. There are no visible buttons. Instead, the entire system is completely and conveniently controlled by a credit card-sized remote control. And setup couldn't be easier. The CD player, digital AM/FM tuner, amplifiers and speakers are all built-in so you can enjoy quality sound right out of the box. The large, bright display panel is easy to read and understand, prominently displaying the artist, title and album names of your suitably encoded MP3 CDs. It's also easy to enjoy the system's full, rich sound with your TV, VCR, DVD player, or computer, thanks to an auxiliary input jack. And if you want to keep the music to yourself, you can simply plug your headphones into the headphone jack. The Wave music system may look familiar, but it takes the original award-winning design of the Wave radio/CD to new levels. With its absence of buttons and a convenient slot-loaded CD player, the slim, sleek profile shines through to complement just about any room.

5The Wonderful Sound.Feb 06, 2010
I have enjoyed a Bose Radio for over ten year, and visitors to our house admired it's sound and capabilities. I found out that my sister, who lives in Canada, secretly wished for one.
So, as a joint project, family members contributed and made my sister a very happy lady.

This relatively small instrument can fill a large room with wonderful sound! How is that possible? A very big Thank You to Bose. Olaf.

3Bozo RadioFeb 04, 2010
I've owned my Bose radio-CD for about six or seven years, and it is the best alarm clock I ever owned. Seriously. But I've had better radios (I'm in my late 70s) that cost relatively a lot less. The celebrated Bose "full" sound is not all that it's cracked up to be, though you may be impressed at first. And the reception is poor. I tried an antenna. Not much improvement. I have a much cheaper radio that does much better. I live in southern Ohio, about a hundred mils from major cities. Oh, and that tiny remote that comes with it. I lost mine early on and ordered a new one, but that did not work very long. I did research and found that's not unusual. All in all, though it is solidly built and has some nice features, and is a status symbol, but it is overpriced and I would not buy another one. The alarm clock feature is what I appreciate most, but $500 for that?

5Quality SoundJan 26, 2010
I have had my Bose Wave Music System for just under a year and am still impressed with it. The sound quality is amazing, everything comes through crystal clear (even when played very loud). I have hooked my Bose up so that the television plays through the AUX as well, making watching movies so much nicer.

The biggest pro for me is how easy it is to use. Just slide your cd in and it's ready to go. There aren't a million buttons to fiddle with like on other stereo units (I am sure there are people who like all those buttons, but that's all a bit much for me). The Bose remote only has a few buttons (there are no controls on the unit itself) making it very self explanatory (play/pause, stop/eject, seek/track and volume are your options for playing a cd).

The alarm feature is also something I use all the time. Set the time you want to wake up and to what you want to wake up to (radio or cd). It's great!

Several of my friends thought I was crazy to spend this amount of money on a stereo unit. I say it is worth every penny. I use it every day and I love it.

5the best little radio everDec 16, 2009
i purchased this radio for music in the master bath. it sounds wonderful and is very simple to use. i opted for the model with a cd player so my wife could listen to her prefered music while getting ready for the day. the remote is really easy to use and it keeps wet fingers off the radio itself for added safety. outstanding sound from a little box on the counter.

1Not againOct 25, 2009
First I purchased a rebuilt Bose with the add-on CD unit. It worked very good for a few weeks till I decided to leave it on (for background music for my cats) while going to the next town. After about 3 hours on my return it could not be controlled with any of the 2 remotes. Sent it in for repair. With some delay Bose sent me a new one. Now about 1 year later the New unit is just a digital clock. It will not work with any of the now three remotes and without an on/off switch this second unit is use less.
I'm not sure if I'll send it in for repair( is this going to be a yearly repair) or cut my losses and buy something else.
I suggest before buying these Bose Wave units you look very hard for something else, besides the sound is really NOT that great.
